Overview

The Taxation Module in DIGITZ ERP provides a complete framework for managing, tracking, and reporting all tax-related transactions across the organisation.
It consolidates tax information from Sales, Purchases, Expenses, and Adjustments to produce accurate input tax, output tax, and consolidated tax summaries.

The module is aligned with UAE VAT regulatory requirements, including Emirate-wise tax segregation, enabling organisations to generate compliant tax reports for periodic filing and review.

Taxation seamlessly integrates with all financial and stock-impacting transactions, ensuring that every taxable entry is captured correctly and reflected in the tax ledgers and reports.

Purpose

The purpose of the Taxation Module is to:

  • Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of VAT on all taxable transactions.
  • Provide separate Input Tax (Purchases side) and Output Tax (Sales side) registers.
  • Generate a Consolidated VAT Summary in line with UAE-required VAT structures, including Emirate-wise VAT reporting.
  • Maintain a centralised tax transparency system for audit and filing.
  • Provide reliable tax data for reconciliation during monthly/quarterly VAT submissions.

How It Works

  • Every taxable transaction in DIGITZ ERP is tagged with a Tax Template or Tax Configuration linked to the VAT rate.
  • When the document is submitted, the system automatically posts the corresponding tax ledger entries.
  • All such postings are accumulated and available in the tax registers (input and output).
  • Tax adjustments, reversals, or corrections are also captured through respective accounting entries.
  • The Consolidated VAT Report aggregates all tax values and groups them by Emirate, reflecting the place of supply as per UAE VAT guidelines.

Key Components

1. Input Tax Register (Purchase Side VAT)

A detailed register of all VAT amounts paid on:

  • Purchase Invoices
  • Purchase Receipts (if applicable)
  • Expense Entries
  • Additional Expense Entries (where applicable)

Displays:

  • Transaction details
  • VAT amount
  • Taxable value
  • Supplier information
  • Emirate (derived from the supplier address or company branch)

2. Output Tax Register (Sales Side VAT)

Captures VAT collected from:

  • Sales Invoices
  • Delivery Notes (if tax is applied)
  • Sales Returns (adjustments)

Displays:

  • Customer details
  • Taxable value
  • VAT amount
  • Emirate of supply
  • Adjustments for returns or corrections

3. Consolidated VAT Report (UAE-Compliant Format)

A complete summary including:

  • Total Output Tax
  • Total Input Tax
  • Net VAT Payable / Refundable
  • Emirate-wise VAT breakdown (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, etc.)
  • Summary grouped by VAT rate (5%, 0%, exempt, out-of-scope)

This report is prepared to match the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) filing structure for accurate monthly or quarterly VAT submission.

Processes Covered

VAT Auto-Posting

Every taxable transaction automatically posts VAT to the corresponding tax account based on the applied tax template.

Adjustments & Corrections

If a submitted transaction is cancelled or amended, the tax posting is reversed and recreated accordingly.

Emirate-wise Allocation

The system determines the applicable Emirate based on:

  • Customer location (for output tax)
  • Supplier location or company branch (for input tax)

Ensures compliance with FTA reporting rules.

MIS Reports (Taxation)

DIGITZ ERP includes the following MIS reports under the Taxation section:

  • Input Tax Register
  • Output Tax Register
  • Consolidated VAT Report (Emirate-wise)
  • Purchase Tax Summary
  • Sales Tax Summary
  • Tax Ledger Report (shows the tax GL account movements)
  • VAT Adjustment Report
